This was my first trip to Israel, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I still think this is the best trip! I got to see a lot of places that are discussed in the Bible and get a feel for what the land looked like at the time. It really impressed upon me the physical small-ness but historical rich-ness of Israel. I have already had instances of having the Bible "come to life" since my visit: reading a passage about someone fleeingĀ  from one place to another and really being able to grasp what that journey might entail. I also experienced a spiritual awakening of sorts - not that my relationship with Jesus was strained before, but it was like visiting the hometown of your best Friend - it was just so cool to see the places where He grew up, grew His ministry, and that I had heard so much about. I think I also came away with a love for Israel that I didn't have before - Can I be a Zionist? Definitely I'm a friend of Israel. Lindsay, you and Barbara (and Sue and other veterans to the trip) really made the trip for me - sharing my brand-new experience with maybe a second- or third-visit experience was enlightening. Tal was an excellent guide as well. Really a trip I will cherish forever.
